Sango III

This text is a continuing of the post from July 27 | Sango II.

Sango is the god of Lightning, thunder and storms, He is known as Jakuta because of the attitude of throwing stone or fight with stone when he was  not invited to choose a holy  day for Himself and for his disciples.

Sango is  a special kind of divinity that loves to tell the truth. Liars cannot be around or within his presence. Sango metes out justice with precision  as IFA makes us to understand  that Sango can see anything kept anywhere and can fetch  it within seconds no matter the weight of the article.

narrates how  Sango’s power was sought to arrest  the person  who kidnapped the wife of orisa  (Deity ). In a brightening  light from the sky, he saw where the woman was located and person who took her there; Sango brought the two  of them  out for the punishment  that is adequate. Sango not only punish his captives with death, when the offense committed demands death, he makes sure that they do not receive sympathy. In many instances, he would dissect the corpse of the victim as if the keenest hacksaw blade  went through the body but he still keep him in the whole body, the corpse is always black as if it was burnt  according to ifa verse:

SANGO  OOO

HUM

SANGIRI LAGIRI

OLAGIRI KAKAKA

FI IGBA EDUN BO

EFIN INA LA DA LAYE

INA NBE LODO OKO MI LORUN ,

TRANSLATION

SANGO OOO

HUM

WALL BREAKER , THE GREAT WALL BREAKER

THAT DESTROY OR BREAK THE WALL INTO MANY PARTS

HIDE TWO HUNDRED  THUNDERBOLT INSIDE THE FALLING WALL

WE ONLY HAVE SMOKE OF FIRE HERE ON EARTH , THE REAL  FIRE  IS WITH MY HUSBAND IN HEAVEN

Sango hates impostor  and He always brings down those with high  look. Never look down on anyone, be meek, gentle and radiate your environment with divine love, wisdom and truth.

Many theory or assumption, have been made in respect to the name of  Sango, some even trace his origin to Egypt that is, Sango name was traced to ancient Egypt (God in Egypt) bearing the name of Sango, or a name from which  the word is  derived. The name ”SANGU ” occurs in the religion history of Chaldea  and denote, ONE WHO IS BOUND TO A GOD or  ”the representative or vice -gerent of a god” . The view maintained by some observers has been expressed  in an earlier  books of wisdom that the OMO ODUA or what the modern  people called Yoruba  seem to have had some contact with Chaldeans. The similarity between the Yoruba  words  ”Sango”  and the Chaldean word ”Sangu”  seems to support the view and to suggest the need for research base on the data now available.

The other name of the deity – Jakuta – unmistakable points  to an Egyptian origin. The word JA- KU- TA , means ” THE LIVING SOUL  (KHU) OF PTAH ” . THE EGYPTIAN GOD PTAH WAS REGARDED AS INCORPORATE  IN A STONE .

THE YORUBA WORD FOR A STONE  IS OKUTA ,  THE SOUL OF PTAH , HENCE , THE LITERAL  MEANING  OF JAKUTA IN YORUBA IS THE FIGHTER WITH STONE.

Another  noteworthy Yoruba  word is  ”A-pa-ta” that is , a rock .  It consists of two Egyptian  words namely ,Pa , -”a house”  and  Ta , a modified form of ”PTAH

another words is related to Sango, the word is  MOGBA, the word is restricted  to the domain  of Oyo  in the olden days, Mogba is one the highest office  within  the pantheon of Sango, as god of thunder , fire, sound  and storms . Mogba or Magba  is from the two word  i”OMA(N) or OMO(N)   AND ”A-GBA” , that is  ”people of the ba”  Agba  or elderly persons being regarded  as possessing in a. special  way the spirit or soul  of the ancestors.

Sango was once described  as –”THE RAM HEADED  GOD OF THUNDER”, as one of the chief  Yoruba deity, he is highly revered and respected among Yoruba at home and in diaspora.

God bless you all,

Sango II

This text is a continuing of the post from July 25 | Sango.

The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, this fear give rise to the spiritual and divine invocation and communications to a divinity called SANGO, one of the primary and most complex emotions known in the jungle of life is the emotion of fear. In regard to Olodumare, this emotion has lost its energy because of the fear you have in the being called Olodumare. In regard to Sango it’s energy reaches its climax and raises the emotion to the level of complete terror and dread. No deity is more dreadful in the religion of  Omo Odua for its malevolence as Sango, the god of thunder, lightening and fire. The first name given to Sango is known as Jakuta, that is “the stone thrower”, or “the fighter with stone” . How did  he  use the name Jakuta, according to the myth in Ejiogbe.

The five great divinities  gathered together to choose a day for their devotee to adore and to  sing the song of praise to Olodumare through them. Indeed, Obatala  chose the  first day, know as ojo Taala tabi ojo obatala, orunmila chose the second day name ojo Ifa, Ogun chose the third day named as Ojo alakaiye osin imole, Esu was not asked to choose any date because of his mischevious  and cunning manner, out of annoyance Esu went on to inform  Sango about the secret plan of the three divinities. Sango rushed to the meeting and threw stone at them to show his anger against the three divinities. The three implored him to stop throwing stone and they explained and begged him for the occurrence. Indeed, Sango accepted their plea and the fourth day was given to him as the day of Jakuta  Based on the action of through throwing  stone at them during the chosen of holly days for each great  ORISAS.

Indeed, within ORISA.  We have only four days. That make a week days.  Ojo obatala.  Ojo Ifa.  Ojo Ogun and Ojo Jakuta.

However, Each of these days must used to pray or to offer sacrifice to each of the  great divinities to attract to their vibration, support and guidance.

Indeed, Sango name is synonymous with anger, hate and worry.  Hence those who worry much and whose anger is constant and hate and fear are great, those who cannot have last long  solid relationship with friend, family and parents Should employ and adopt Sango as his guiding ORISA or  Irunmole that is ruling  his or her  destiny.

Sango symbolizes total domination, victory  and  power to overcome terror   Fear and dread.

We shall continue next time.

Alcohol

Aboru aboye.
From one of our members in Italy:
Did you know that word “ALCOHOL” originally means BODY EATING SPIRIT?
Although it is mass produced, mass promoted, legal, and ingested by a multitude of people all over the world, most people don’t ever consider or understand the spiritual consequences of drinking alcohol.
Alcohol consumption is widely accepted in our society, associated with partying, celebrations and events (such as weddings). Beer and liquor companies market their products with slick advertisements, portraying beautiful women, popularity and success.
While it is not only accepted, but legal to consume alcohol in the United States, there is a side to its consumption that is often overlooked, which is the spiritual consequences of drinking. Most Americans choose to turn a blind eye to any consequences that may result from the consumption of alcoholic beverages, and many of those that do acknowledge this reality see only the potential physical ramifications.
As a starting point, look at the roof of the world alcohol itself. “Alcohol” is derived from the Arabic “al-kuhl”, a word that means “body eating spirit”. This word is also the origin for the English word “ghoul.” Middle Eastern folklore tells of a ghoul as an evil demon, which was believed to consume human bodies, specifically children and stolen corpses.
Both “alcohol” and “alembic” are metaphors for aqua vitae, or “life water.” Also interesting to note, the world “spirit” refers to a distilled liquid, which can be traced back to Middle Eastern alchemy.
In a Facebook post, health writer Jason Christoff wrote:
“The word “alcohol” is said to come from the arabic term “Al-khul” which means “BODY-EATING SPIRIT” (also, is the origin of the term” ghoul”).
In alchemy, alcohol is used to extract the soul essence of an entity. Hence its’ use in extracting essences for essential oils, and the sterilization of medical instruments. By consuming alcohol into the body, it in effect extracts the very essence of the soul, allowing the body to be more susceptible to neighboring entities most of which are of low frequencies. (why do you think we call certain alcoholic beverages “SPIRITS”). That is why people who consume excessive amounts of alcohol often black out, not remembering what happened. This happens when the good soul (we were sent here with) leaves because the living conditions are too polluted and too traumatic to tolerate. The good soul jettisons the body, staying connected on a tether, and a dark entity takes the body for a joy ride around the block, often in a hedonistic and self serving illogical rampage. Our bodies are cars for spirits. If one spirit leaves, another can take the car for a ride.
Essentially when someone goes dark after drinking alcohol or polluting themselves in many other ways, their body often becomes possessed by another entity. Have you ever felt different, more sexual, more violent, less rational and less logical………after drinking alcohol? Are you aware we already live inside an ancient religious cult who are schooled concerning the dark powers of alcohol? It is this cult that popularizes alcohol, through the media and government it controls, to serve a very ancient and dark agenda.
The solutions to our crumbling society are only to be found within our non polluted collective humanity, not within modern science and the death cult it represents, Our dark and immoral human farmers masquerade as altruistic governments, who then serve us up to dark spiritual entities that feed off our energies when we consume alcohol and a host of other toxic substances they rain down from the top of the ruling pyramid. We’re slaves living on an elaborate control grid…..based on indoctrination, propaganda, chemical sedation, toxic medication and we’re even used as food energy for dark spirits who live outside the frequency of visible sight.

On Ifayelele 1

Ifayelele IS DIVINE STATE OF CONSCIOUSNESS.

Ifayelele is the quality of spirit and mind enjoyed by Olodumare and the Irunmole/Orisa. It is characterized by certainty, serenity, wholesomeness and freedom from all that defiles, impurifies, taints, perturbs, and oppresses the heart/mind. It is a state of abiding positivity, joy, peace and clarity. It is also the state of being in which the powers of ones soul begin to emerge and manifest in original diversity. Ifayelele in its highest and most developed state is the condition of spiritual-moral-emotional and intellectual maturity.

In Ifayelele one perceives things with clarity and ones sees things as they truly are and not as they seem. In Ifayelele one is able to know and discern the present actual qualities and intentions of people with exactitude. A person established in Ifayelele sees things from the root and is not subject to the deception of others. A person in Ifayelele is humble, proceeds with good faith, kindness and does not humiliate or embarrass others neither does he reveal the shortcomings or faults of others to anyone. A person developed and cultured in Ifayelele can perceive the hidden wholesome and unwholesome qualities and activities of people yet he treats them all with equanimity, good prospects, positivity and impartiality. In Ifayelele there is no desire or intention to be judgmental or competitive. One is at peace with oneself, the world and the Divine. In Ifayelele ones sees and brings out the best in everyone.

The man or woman established in Ifayelele disarms others easily of their fears, anxieties, worries and insecurities and in exchange gives them hope, strength, dignity and confidence.  In Ifayelele one inspires confidence in others immediately by the power of the authority, divine clarity and charisma that is at work within which others immediately and directly perceive, feel and are moved by. One sees with the divine eye of Ifa and one shares in the sentiment of the Irunmole. Another symptom of Ifayelele is the ability to easily adopt to changing conditions and to be able to maintain peace, calm and serenity in the midst of adversity and problems.

In terms of growth and development the knowledge of Ifayelele is all important because the purpose of our creation is to reach fullness of Ifayelele. The sign and symptom of someone who has entered the stream, current or realization of Ifayelele is that such a person is no longer subject to retrogression morally and spiritually. The person who awakens and matures in Ifayelele is free from doubts, knows the reality of Olodumare, Ifa and the Irunmole/Orisa and is disposed to pursuing only those things that are noble, worthwhile and approved by the wise.

The divine realm is not a matter of speculation, guesswork or mere hopeful belief to the man or woman established in Ifayelele. The spiritual realm is an absolute experiental and verified reality in Ifayelele and as such one becomes established in truth and becomes a partaker of an unshakeable faith, confidence and certainty that no amount of vain reasoning or foolhardy logic can dispel. What ones physical eyes and light are to a human being is what Ifayelele is to the spirit of the truly spiritually awakened and confident man or woman. Ifayelele is light, true sight, clarity and deep discernment. Ifayelele is accurate and complete understanding of ones existential reality. Self responsibility, integrity and thorough going honesty or transparency are the traits of a person who has become established in Ifayelele. The experience of Ifayelele is the fruit of deliberate spiritual effort joined and inseparable from the gift of the outpouring and reception of divine ase.

When one has a substantial and significant spiritual growth spurt that causes one to experience and know the reality of the influence, power and presence of ase, one can be said to have experienced ones entry into Ifayelele. Ifayelele is a purifying and ongoing, developing and progressive experience. Ifayelele experience is a catharsis of the mind, emotions, heart and spirit conferring healing, renewal and restoration. Ifayelele cleanses, purifies and releases one from negative, injurious and destructive energies, emotions, thoughts and feelings. It heals the heart and makes one strong and fearless. Ones initial experience of Ifayelele (divine awakening) is marked by a new sense of wonder, awe, respect and love for oneself, humanity and the divine. One sees and experiences things with a new and lofty perspective.

The beginning of Ifayelele is experienced in ones life when one becomes consciously aware of the divine realm and the spiritual life. When a person initially has this clear and unshakable conviction and affinity, he or she has had a momentary awakening or Ifayelele experience.

Ifayelele is a conversion, transformative  and/or awakening experiences which changes ones perspective, attitude and manner of life. It changes ones relationship to the world. The initial experience of Ifayelele is powerful, wonderful, simple and life changing and can be compared to being consciously born into the spiritual reality. It is a new birth, a new beginning, a new development and unfoldment of ones inner life. It is something that deeply and permanently changes and transforms your outlook and fills you with great joy, certainty, meaning and purpose.

Ifayelele makes one fearless and fills one with a sense of worth. Ifayelele is something that one discovers and enters into through a process of struggle, inquiry and seeking to finds one true center and faith in life. Ifayelele is something that happens to you but when it happens, by virtue of that experience one is enabled to see, understand and know why it happened and how it happened. No one can give you Ifayelele but when you obtain it you know that you have it. It the sacred treasure of inestimable value. Nothing can compare to it. When you have it you are no longer seeking for answers and are no longer seeking for this or that. In Ifayelele one has already found or been found by the great divine reality. Without effort Ifayelele cannot be had but at the same time Ifayelele is not the fruit of bare and unaided effort. Your effort, struggle, seeking, longing and tears….your many ups and downs… prepare you for Ifayelele. In Ifayelele your personal power and effort and Divine power and initiative becomes one. There are countless ways whereby a person enters the stream, current and/or realization of Ifayelele. There is no one size fit all method for Ifayelele attainment.

The secret to entering, awakening and being continually refreshed and renewed in Ifayelele is to honestly and fearlessly pursue ones spiritual affinities. Ifayelele is divine inspiration, courage, power, divinely given certainty and confirmation which is in union with the verifying certainty of your own conscience and intelligence. This is the key: Honestly pursue your spiritual affinities and obey your conscience.  If you are told more than this you will lose out on the power, meaning and value of your own Ifayelele experience when it happens to you. It is kind of like if someone in advance gives you the punch line of a joke then that information or knowledge will rob you of your joy, awakening of happiness, spontaneous response and discovery. In Ifayelele you have learned to connect the dots of your life and have unraveled the profound, beautiful and mes igual mystery of your life. Once you have personally tasted Ifayelele you will know in what way and manner to cultivate, exercise it and experience it more deeply and with ever increasing clarity (understanding). Some can be filled and overpowered by Ifayelele during their participation in sacred rites where the divine energies are powerfully present. Some experience and awaken to Ifayelele by being in association with someone who is established in Ifayelele. Others feel the fullness of Ifayelele through their devotion to prayer, meditation and fasting. Some are made strong in Ifayelele during their recitation of sacred Ifa verses or during their singing of sacred songs to Olodumare and the Irunmole/Orisa.

There is no doubt that Ifayelele is a stage reached as a result of life of searching, spiritual practice, interaction with the divine powers, self-cultivation, reflection and effort. There are many ways which are valid and true which serve at catalysts and agencies of the transmission of Ifayelele. Ifayelele is something that fills your awareness and causes you to want to improve, grow and develop without anyone having to push you or encourage you. It is a power, a divine dynamic potency at work within which one consciously experiences as well as a divine state of consciousness to be cultivated, nurtured and protected. To want to enter and know Ifayelele with your own life and experience it is to know that Ifayelele awakening is near. The surrounding light of Ifayelele causes you to want it and seek for it more than anything else. It becomes your consuming passion and you will not be content or satisfied until the light of Ifayelele not only surrounds, guides and purifies you from without but until it enters you and fills you.

To want Ifayelele you have to truly want truth more than any else. You have to be willing to cut out of your life all non-essentials. Ifayelele cannot be a part time affair or a passing interest. It requires a wholehearted and personal commitment, a commitment not imposed upon you from without from anyone or anybody. Ifayelele is the confidential heart, center, mystery and priceless treasure of Ifa. The authentic aspiration for Ifayelele attainment must be a spontaneous response on your part to the call of the divine ase upon your life. You have to be willing and able to sacrifice anything that stands in your way to its attainment. You need to have zeal, calm follow through, strong determination and fervor. You have to be continuously hungry and thirsty for it…without this you will never attain it.

What I am authorized to tell you for your benefit is that if you are serious about attaining Ifayelele then be courageous, brave and determined to be completely dedicated to the pursuit of your honest spiritual affinities. A man or woman of Ifayelele is not and cannot be consumed and weighed down with the thoughts and opinions of others. You have to be true to yourself, your conscience and your personal real inner experiences. There is no place for make believe and fantasy in this pursuit. Ifayelele is a real attainment for realistic people. Ifayelele comes from Ifa-Olodumare. Ifayelele is born of truth, honesty and integrity. It arises from the root of your spirit. The seed of Ifayelele is already within you. In fact it is you. It needs only to receive light, water and nourishment of the divine kind.

Oracle Or Divination?

Blessings of long life and prosperity to you by the unfailing and efficacious blessings of Iworiwofun. Ase.

Today I would like us to briefly consider the interesting subject of Ifa in its aspect as a divinely authorized system imbued with divine life and intelligence and through which we can obtain clear, precise, specific, personal, insightful and pragmatic instructions from Olodumare which has a verifiable and significant bearing upon our lives in such a revelatory (personal) manner that there is no doubt that the Divine Olodumare is revealing things to us in a personal, astounding and lofty way through Ifa.
In common usage today the word ‘divination’, is the word used to describe the process of consulting Ifa-Olodumare. Is this word correct? Is Ifa a ‘divination’ system? Well, it all depends on your personal understanding of the exact meaning of the word divination. Personally I do not agree that Ifa is a ‘divinatory system’ and that the word ‘divination’ is the right, correct and/or accurate word to use when referring to consulting the guidance, wisdom and power of Olodumare through Orunmila (IFA). I will share my views and thoughts with you as to why I uphold my perspective and I’ll leave it up to you to make up your own mind whether ‘divination’ is the right word to use when we are referring to consulting Ifa.
That the mechanics by which we obtain Odu Ifa and that other procedural processes of Ifa consultation are orderly and systematic no one can doubt. Something being orderly and systematic is one thing and something being ‘divinatory’ is another thing altogether.
The word divination in the English language implies a process by which to arrive at answers via a method or system based mostly on probability, relative and limited capacity of intuition and/or guesswork. In others words, in ‘divination’ there is an element of uncertainty, possibility of error and incompleteness. Personally I would not want to make any real life decisions and choices based on any kind of ‘divination’ or ‘divination system’ because those systems operate on the principle of probability, relative and untrained limited intuition, and/or guesswork. Something can be probable but that doesn’t mean that it is true. Someone can make a very good, educated and intelligent guess and still be very wrong about something. A person can intuit something and discover that his or her intuition was wrong, unreliable and inconsistent.
It is truth, reality, actuality that we want; clear, realistic, accurate and verifiable truth is what we are seeking. This desired level of knowledge, understanding and wisdom or truth can only come from a Perfect Divine Source and cannot be the handiwork of probability, guesswork, and/or incomplete and narrow personal experiences nor the product of finite human intelligence and relative intuitional ability. Divination is not a sure and reliable thing. Divination guarantees nothing. At best it is a refined way of guessing, affirming what one already knows or hoping something is so. To make choices and decisions that are going to have real consequences and repercussions based on ‘divination’ i.e. hopeful guesswork, mere probability and an uninformed, untrained and unguided intuition does not seem to me to be an intelligent option, at least not for me.
Ifa does not operate like this and therefore the word ‘divination’ or ‘divination system’ is not the accurate terminology to capture and express Ifa and its sacred methodology of divine procedence. This use of the word ‘divination’ or ‘divination system’ in relation to consulting Ifa and Orunmila has become so entrenched that only with great patience and accurate explanations can this misnomer be corrected and a more accurate and more becoming term be utilized.
If I am a Medical Doctor of Cardiology and you came to me to ascertain the nature of your particular and serious heart ailment, I am sure that you would run away as fast as your legs could carry you if I told you that I am going to ‘divinate’ to see what your heart problem is and whether heart surgery is the best option! You do not want me to ‘divinate’ i.e. guess anything. You came to consult with me so that I can tell you what I cent per cent ‘KNOW’ about your ailment and what real and effective treatments we could apply to treat and cure you. Well, when we come to Orunmila, we are coming to consult the expert doctor who knows. Orunmila will not be getting me to do anything if he is ‘divinating’ i.e. giving me his best guess. No way. Not ever. Orunmila is an educated, highly trained, superbly endowed expert in all matters relating to our lives by virtue of the blessings, guidance, preparation and training he received from OLODUMARE’S DIVINE UNIVERSITY OF UNIVERSAL WISDOM, DIVINE HEALING MEDICINE, COMPASSIONATE COUNSELING AND REAL PRACTICAL DIVINE TECHNOLOGIES AND APPLICATIONS LEADING TO IMMEDIATE BENEFICIAL AND PERSONALLY VERIFIABLE RESULTS. ORUNMILA got his many PH.D.’s and DIVINE MEDICINE, DIVINE SCIENCE and PSYCHOLOGY High Degrees in Olodumare’s divine school of divine instruction and training for Irunmole. When you consult Divine Professor Ifa and Dr. Orunmila you can be sure you will be getting the precise diagnosis and most reliable, effective and beneficial treatment plan. No guesswork but true knowledge, understanding and wisdom, having its source and center in Olodumare and not the finite, unreliable and imperfect human intelligence. So, when you see your doctor, and he performs tests and then gives you the treatment plan with prescription medications, you do not say the Doctor ‘divinated’ these things for you, neither do you say that you ‘divined’ with your Doctor. You say you consulted your doctor who is competent and trustworthy due to his many years of study, training, understanding, experience and application. Am I correct? In like manner we consult Ifa through Orunmila.
Ifa is a Living Oracle and Oracular system which is not the same as saying ‘divination’ or ‘divination system’. It is not a game of symantics or word play. If words are going to hold a value and meaning for us that meaning must be clear, precise and accurate. Words are sound symbols for meanings and values. An Oracle on the other hand is a living intelligent divine agent that is immediately and directly communicating to us through some divinely authorized and established means. Ifa Priests are skilled, intelligent, well studied, well trained  and divinely inspired (empowered) INTERPRETERS (Doctors) of the Divine Message which has been chosen and sent by Olodumare specifically to you, to bring remedy, solution and correction to your problem, situation and/or ailment. To call a Babalawo a ‘diviner’ is beneath his dignity and station as a servant of Olodumare, as a disciple of Orunmila and as an embodiment and living sanctuary of the Spirit of Limitless Light and Life i.e. Ifa.
When we approach an expert awo, we are not interested in his personal human opinions neither have we come to consult him per se. We have come to consult Olodumare (Ifa and Orunmila) through the mediatorship qualifications, divine grace and training of the bonafide awo.
Ancient awo who trained, learned and walked with Ifa and followed the teachings, example and instructions of Orunmila were seers, sages, saviours, visionaries, divine priests and prophets not mere ‘diviners’. There have been in recent past times and there are at present devotee’s of Ifa whose lives are so in keeping with the principles and divine pattern established by Ifa and Orunmila that without even casting Opele, Odu or utilizing Ikin they can speak with the clarity, specificity, depth, uncovering-revealing power, insightfulness and truthfulness of Ifa. These men were and are Ifa divine seers vested with power. In ancient times these divine, rare and spiritually cultured men were proudly known as oso. These divine men were held in great regard and esteem. This word ‘oso’ is also used today to refer to wizards or sorcerers but this valid word ‘oso’ is not just limited to these contemporary meanings of wizards or sorcerers. Divine men filled with the power and wisdom of Ifa were also called Oso (divine seers, sages- men of divine knowledge, power, charisma and influence). Over time many charlatans, miscreants, practioners of ignorant superstition, pseudo spirituality and pretenders corrupted the dignity, prestige and true meaning of the sacred word oso and the sacred order of oso which also referred to initiated men (awo) who were so in tune with and in harmony with Ifa and the manner of character and life of Orunmila that they could perceive, experience and relate things with a remarkable resemblance to the ways of the Irunmole. These men displayed gracefulness, power, respect inspiring character, charisma and deep wisdom in all they did. They were empowered to inspire and transform hearts and minds. But without going to far from the main topic perhaps at a later time we can consider that most interesting and important topic of divine oso (empowered divine seers) on another occasion.
To resume, Ifa is a divine, holy and omniscient guiding power which expresses and reveals itself, it’s wisdom, guidance, power and inspiration through the instrumentality of Awo, Sacred Methodology, Opele, Memorized Ifa Scripture, Ikin, Opon and Ibo. And especially through Irunmole Orunmila the divine prophet, seer and revelator who is one with the Ifa spirit of limitless light and life who guides all awo whether they are babalawo or not. Orunmila is able to appear and reveal himself and his mysteries to his devoted followers in many ways, when he deems it prudent and necessary to do so. I pray this message meets you well and encourages you to understand  and appreciate Ifa on a more sublime and elevated level which Ifa and Orunmila deserve.
Ela ‘boru.
Ela ‘boye.
Ela ‘bosise

Ifa is the divine treasure of holy men. Heartfelt praise and devotion to the precepts of Ifa is the key to genuine peace, power, health and prosperity: An Ifa devotional.

You know the secrets of the heart of Olodumare; and His glorious purposes are known to you because Olodumare hides nothing from you. To call upon you and rely upon you is to receive the full support, goodness and blessings of Olodumare Oba Ire. Strong, wise and powerful Orunmila, even the fierce and fearless leopard turns on its heels and flees when it sees you because it knows that it cannot ever overpower you! Homage  to you Orunmila, you who sits majestically upon the skin of the leopard! Even death honors you!
Oh Ifa! Oh Orunmila! Those who follow you as whole hearted student-disciples are in turn pursued and followed by limitless blessings, honor, longevity and prosperity. Homage to you Orunmila, who are the divine mystic who eats a lot of palm oil yet does not turn red, you are the divine sage who wrestles death into submission! To know you Ifa, to know you Orunmila is to know and experience eternal life (the divine quality of life). Is it not you Ifa who gives life and hope to one and all?! There is no failure with you. Orunmila you are the refuge from death, sorrow, fear and destruction. You are the one who teaches us how to spiritually transform and evolve through the mysteries of Ela, the Spirit of Purity, Nobility, Godliness and Salvation. Ifa you give us power to joyously and contentedly persevere, prevail and conquer our inner and outer antagonists through patience, goodness, divine spirituality and humility.
Orunmila Awimilogbon (wise teacher and guide)! Orunmila Awinrin (the one who sees and understands all things with clarity and precision)! Orunmila Oba Atayese (King empowered to rectify, heal and correct) why do not men not know that if they call upon you with simplicity, sincerity, earnestness  and good faith you would compassionately rush to bring them relief and deliverance from their troubles and afflictions?! Why do men not know that you are not far away but near, and that  a sincere and devoted thought directed towards you receives immediate recognition and response. Compassionate and kind Orunmila, you are the one who feels our sufferings as if they were your own. You are the one who delights and rejoices in our success and happiness. Orunmila, master of the sixteen principles of creation, may we never forget you and lose sight of you. It is in the early morning we praise Ifa and Orunmila. It is in the morning I wake up to salute, greet and praise Ifa.
Oh Ifa, oh Orunmila; remember me as I remember you. Do not forget me as I do not forget you. Do not forsake me as I will not abandon you! Others may forget you; others may not appreciate you, but I will not abandon you, I will not lose my appreciation towards you because I know you have done me only good. I will not hide from others my confidence and faith in you! I will never be ashamed that Ifa is my father and I am a loyal and grateful son (or daughter)! Ifa I call on you! Ela I call on you. Ifa! Ela! Receive and be pleased with the offering and sacrifice of my heartfelt praise and words of gratitude. Weigh my heart on the balance of truth, sincerity, honesty and good faith and bless me according the the measure, weight and quality of my heart! Ifa you live in my heart and no where else! Ifa I live in your heart and no where else! Ifa you and I are surely united. We are one! For many life times Ifa have I been following you and you have been following me! Who can understand this mystery of friendship, love and respect between you and I. Countless times I have come from Orun (pre-mortal divine spirit world) to Aye (earth) and countless times I have ascended from aye to orun, and in all my my journeying you have been with with like the loyal and trustworthy friend that you are.
Oh, Ifa! Oh, Orunmila! Your excellences and perfections cannot be enumerated. In one fell swoop no one can attain to your sublime status or condition, but little by little I seek to be firmly established in Ifayelele. Oh, Ifa! Oh, Orunmila! Many are my defects and flaws, but one sure virtue do I have and that is that I do not forget nor neglect you, and that to the best of my ability I trustingly and humbly exert myself to obey you as a son obeys a loving, caring, gentle and wise father. Ifa may I never forget you! Ifa may you never forget me.
A man can have many material goods and riches of all sorts and yet be far from you. Ifa may I never forget you, may I never be far from you. May you Ifa, be my inexhaustible treasure of inestimable value.
A man can be endowed with great intelligence, wisdom and ability and yet be far from you. Ifa may I never forget you, may I never be far from you. May you Ifa, be my intelligence, wisdom and ability.
A man can be a partaker of great affluence and be endowed with a great following and yet be far from you and your ways. Ifa, may I never forget you, may I never be far from you. May you Ifa, be my charisma and may I be masterful in my following of you.
A man can be a partaker of good physical health and well being yet be spiritually unhealthy and impoverished. Ifa, may I never forget you, may you never be far from me. May, you Ifa, impart to me mental, emotional and spiritual serenity and vitality. May I be inwardly healthy, strong and robust. Ifa, may you be my strength, stamina and vitality.
A man can be outwardly happy, content and satisfied and yet be far from you. Ifa, may I never forget you, may I never be far from you. May you Ifa, confer upon me the grace and means, to have and enjoy genuine, deep and lasting happiness, contentment and satisfaction.
Oh Ifa! Oh Orunmila. You are fully aware that our lives upon this earth are often beset with afflictions, sorrows, adversities and challenges of all sorts. Ifa, you know that at times we are under stressors and pressures that rob us of clarity and the resolve to always do what is right.

Oh, Ifa! Oh, Orunmila! We must admit before you that at times we fall short and stray from the proper path you have shown us, due to ignorance, despondency, stress or neglect. Ifa, extend the mantle of your compassion, gentleness, understanding and forgiveness upon us. Ifa uplift us, mend and heal our personal lives.
Ifa, if I have offended you please do not demand of me sacrificial offerings but instead grant me Ifa, unconditional remission as you did for the people of the town of tranquility. Ifa I take full responsibility for my choices and actions and ask of you for the gift of strength and understanding to correct myself and do what is right, proper and acceptable before you.
Ifa, if I have offended you please do not demand of me a sacrificial offering, instead grant me Ifa, complete remission, as you did for the people of the land of tranquility. Ifa lead me and empower me on the path of good conscience.
Ifa, if I have offended you by harming, injuring or deceiving others by my thoughts, words and actions please do not demand of me a sacrificial offering. Ifa, I resolve before you to make what reparations I can and I now renew my vow to proceed henceforth with honesty, truthfulness, kindness and integrity. Ifa, grant total remission and complete forgiveness as you did the people of the town of tranquility. May I be pursued by the blessings of a good character.
Forgive me great King, the forgiving King. May it be so.
Oh Ifa. Oh, Orunmila you know my great reverence and affection towards you. You are my joy and delight night and day. When I look upon my sacred Ikin Ifa, I see much more than sacred black kernels of the holy palm tree. When I look upon my mysterious, sacred, powerful and beautiful, black Ikin kernels I immediately am reminded of you Orunmila, the holy sage of black hue who came from Iketi, and with great kindness, thoughtfulness,  perseverance, and power of character and personality served the people and filled their lives with meaning, hope and values. Oh Orunmila! You served, remembered and cared for so many but only few truly appreciated, loved and remembered you in their hearts. Orunmila may I never forget you. May I always appreciate and value you.
Oh, Ifa! Oh, Orunmila! When I look upon my sacred, wonderful and powerful Ikin Ifa, I behold more than just alluring black kernels from the sacred palm tree. Orunmila Awinrin! When I look upon my Ikin, each with four beautiful eyes, it reminds me that you Orunmila are always with me and that you are always looking out for me. Just like the Ikin Ifa with four eyes, you too Orunmila have four spiritual eyes with which you see, survey and comprehend fully the events of the past, present, future and the timeless realm of Olodumare and Irunmole! Orunmila may I never forget you. May I always appreciate and value you.
Oh, Ifa! Oh, Orunmila! When I look upon my sacred, attractive and divine  Ikin Ifa, I see more than just sacred black kernels from the holy palm tree. I know that your gentle, powerful and divine fiery (active) presence, power and ase is within Ikin and envelops them. I know that through my Ikin you receive my hospitality, friendship, affection and the outpourings of my heart. Your strength, wisdom, gentleness and power are communicated to me by Ikin through which I am empowered, motivated, divinely informed and inspired! When I looked upon you Ifa I recall the sixteen principles of creations by which Olodumare brought all things into existence, upholds them and guides them to perfection! Ikin are small in size and seem to be powerless but just like you Orunmila who were small in stature and unassuming in appearance yet you were and are filled with fathomless sagacity, gracefulness, sanctity and power! Orunmila may I never forget you. May I always appreciate and value you.
Oh, Ifa! Oh, Orunmila may you always respond to my call and act on my behalf when I call upon you. May I not have to wait long to experience and see your relief, salvation and consolation. May you hear me and descend immediately, when in sincerity and earnestness I call upon you. May you never say to me Ifa:
My son (or daughter) I have heard your call and will not descend because I have nowhere to affirm my feet!”
Oh, Ifa! Oh, Orunmila, may my heart be the place of the descent of your presence, power and ase. May my sincere (clean heart) be your spacious, proper and pure dwelling place!
Oh, Ifa! Oh, Orunmila! May my intelligence, conscience and spirit be one with you in quality. May my heart and intelligence be an extension of you Ifa, great, wonderful and unfailing oracle, guide, mentor and friend.
May my conduct and behavior honor you and make your heart rejoice and delight in me.
Ela Ela! Praise and reverence to you.
Ela Ela! Imbue me with your light, truth and purity.
Ela Ela! May the sacrifice and offering of my praise, words of acknowledgment and gratitude be accepted.
Ela Ela! May my spirit, heart and mind soar above to Ile Ase (divine house of power, command and authority) to receive comfort, strength, wisdom, sanctity, consolation and godly power.
Ela Ela! Spirit of purity, truthfulness, honesty, courage, godliness, authority and power lead me on your path and grant me access to treasury of the divine gifts and blessings of Olodumare.
Ela Ela! Bless and prosper me so that I may be able to bring something new, original, needful and beneficial to this ailing and hurting world from the limitless treasure store of Olodumare Oba Aiku, that will contribute to the uplift, healing and rectifying of humanity.

The Power Of Self Confidence

Author of the text: Mark Casillas, one of our members from North America

Aboru Aboye.

Profound is the power of your self confidence. Nobody can crush your determination. When even big obstacles of the size of mountains cannot obstruct your path, what is the significance of ordinary obstacles? You are more powerful than even the sun! The biggest power in the world is the power of the soul, which arouses the dormant powers of man and brings out the extra-sensory capacity by developing it, and it gives the capacity for increasing material prosperity. All the activities for the life by obtaining the means for facilities and for their proper planning are carried out with the soul’s powers (spiritual powers). The capacity for work for personal benefit and for the benefit of others is obtained by our intellect. But with the strength of the spirit, such profoundness is possible, by which not only personal, but the entire world’s upliftment becomes possible. A person who lacks spiritual strength cannot experience happiness even though he has all the material means. But if a person becomes rich with spiritual strength, that person achieves divine (heavenly) bliss (happiness) in this life itself and by constantly establishing oneness with Olodumare (God) constantly moves towards the real objective of life. Normally with external vision we believe  this body to be, the be-all and end-all, but our life is created within the body by the the life-force (breath of life) of Elemi (the supreme life giver) from which arises  the mind, the intelligence and the subtle layers of the soul. The soul is part and parcel of Enitolodu (the supreme cause, source and center of all things). The soul, being qualitatively one with Edumare (the supreme creator), is always trying, striving and longing to move closer, towards the Supreme. The sublime power (ase) which Olodumare the Creator of the cosmos (universe) has for Himself, the same power is within us (because Olodumare in the form of Ori is within us). Self-confidence is nothing but having faith (trust and confidence) in this fact. Once a person is filled with glorious self-confidence and makes a decision or determination, then no power on earth can sway him.
Obatala was able to accept and discharge the extraordinary  divine mission to create, sustain and expand the creation, form mankind and set an example of humility, godliness, kingship, service, inner strength, dignity and integrity on the profound strength of self-confidence.  Ogun the guardian of truth, defender of justice and vanquisher of deliberate law breakers and evil-doers was able to fight injustice and overcome the enemies of the people and of progress through the power of self-confidence. Though greatly misunderstood, Ogun was persevering and relentless in the accomplishment of his divine mission and task and paid no attention to the comments and opinions of many people who could not understand and see things from the superior and comprehensive perspective of Ogun. This Ogun achieved through the marvellous power of self confidence. Through the power of self-confidence Orunmila was able, upon receiving the ase of divine wisdom, to officiate as a humble and exemplary sage, seer, prophet, revelator and counselor to divine personalities and human beings. Through the power of self-confidence Orisa Ogboni established law, order and balance in ancient times when chaos, disorder and lawlessness was prevailing upon the earth. Never forget that self confidence means knowing that the same power of the Creator lies within us. All the achievements of man in the present times are the result of his firm will and tremendous will-power. Man has climbed to the top of precarious and awe inspiring mountains, man flies through the air in machines, is making discoveries at the bottom of the seas and in all fields of knowledge both material and spiritual,–all this is a miracle only of the profound power of self-confidence, enthusiasm, patience and perseverence. When mankind knows itself truly then it truly knows Olodumare, who is the God of supreme confidence. Olodumare is the primordial and eternal energy of Faith, Confidence, Trust and Power. When we know Olodamare then we know ourselves and the glory of our station, dignity and privilege as children of the Source Supreme. When mankind forgets or ignores its spiritual source and foundation then does suffering and dissatisfaction ensue. Instead of attempting to find the ultimate truth of life, mankind often seeks comfort in transitory, meaningless recreations and unsatisfying vanities which diminishes the divine power of self-confidence. The real path for recognizing the tremendous power of our soul and by its energy increase happiness and prosperity of the self, as well as the world, is by total faith in Olodumare’s supremacy and authority. Once when this faith becomes firm within us can we always get the personal abiding experience that Eledaa (God our Creator) is truly and literally dwelling within our soul. His presence empowers us and automatically goes on inspiring us towards good actions, good words and good thoughts. Our power of creativity and intelligence becomes increasingly increased and enhanced by our living awareness of the divine presence which fills us with a self-confidence which cannot be defeated or overturned.  Olodumare’s authority is nothing but the strength of the soul or will power. With faith, trust  and confidence our spiritual life becomes succesful, meaningful and satisfying.

Quality not quantity. Devotion and love and not rote ritual and mechanical rites.

Author of the text: Mark Casillas, one of our members from North America

Aboru Aboye.

Iba Olodumare.
Today I would like us to consider the value and importance of quality, genuine devotion and heart felt dedication in our service to the orisa.
Why do we choose to become devoted to or dedicated to certain orisa? Why do we receive their sacred icons, emblems and ase? Why do we aspire for priesthood? Why do we invest our time, resources and hearts in pursuit of the mysteries of the orisa? These are important, penetrating and revealing questions that each one must endeavor to honestly answer for themselves. What are you seeking for and looking for in your association with the orisa? Are your hopes legimitate? Is your faith sound and genuine, or do you have an aberrant and counterfeit faith? Are your expectations well founded or are you pursuing unrealistic and unrealizable expectations from either people or the orisa?
Some people come to orisa to pursue genuine spirituality and to partake of divine grace, wisdom and power to improve their own lives, realize their humanity and to genuinely assist others along these same lines without a calculating spirit, bartering disposition or selfish motives.
Some come to orisa for less than honorable purposes, they come seeking an occasion to promote their vanity, pride and delusions of grandeur etc etc. They want to lord it over others and become petty gods on this sacred earth. They shamefully come to attempt to turn the holy path of the orisa into a commercial enterprise. Such ones come to something good and noble but for the wrong reasons or aims.
Others come out of curiosity, they come in a spirit of honest search, inquiry and investigation. Irrespective of how and why they come, the orisa in good faith receive them with love, hope and a vision of noble prospects.
You see, the orisa are not suspicious by nature or petty. They see the hidden good in all and the treasure of divine potential in all. The orisa will always endeavor to elevate and transform the hearts and minds of the devotee’s, irrespective of their initial reason or reasons for coming to the orisa. How wonderful, great, noble and farsighted are the orisa. This being said, let us continue on to consider the importance of quality versus quantity in our walk of friendship with the orisa. Let us consider the vital importance of cultivating and having genuine awe, love and reverence for the orisa. It is awe, love and reverence that bonds the affections of the orisa to us and us to the orisa. Awe, love, gratitude and reverence are the sum, substance and vital power of rites, ceremonies and rituals. If there is no genuine affinity with the orisa permeated by authentic awe, love and reverence, our rites, ceremonies and rituals will be no more than powerless theatrical performances that will fail to receive the response, power and grace of the orisa.
Today in the orisa community a spirit of superficiality, decadence, irreverence and loss of moral-spiritual values has crept in, ruining the faith, corrupting the spiritual lives, devotion and priesthood of countless devotee’s. Many devotee’s have been led away into wrongful paths by unwise and immature leaders, priests and elders who do not have the best interest of their students at heart or that of the orisa. To them the path of orisa is a commercial enterprise or an avenue to inflate their pride and vanity and to attempt to cover over or hide from others the fact that they are spiritually-morally ignorant and bankrupt. Such ones have nothing of true and enduring value to give to others. Many noble and genuine student-devotee’s of the orisa are seeking not only for the divine and beautiful truths of their faith, but also seeking to find the genuine representatives and embodiments of the principles of Ifa, of Orisa, of Isese. To such ones I say: Do not allow yourselves to become discouraged and do not lose hope. Determine to be such a stalwart, bonafide and staunch devotee of the divine orisa and their ideals. Many people think that if they just fill their homes with many kinds of orisa shrines, icons and so forth, all will be well, blessings, peace, health and power will be forthcoming. Is this true? No it is not. Many are in a mad rush to get this initiation, that initiation, this empowerment, that empowerment, this orisa, that orisa, on and on and on. They do this thinking that by increasing quantity of all of these realities, their lives will be fulfilled, filled with peace and power. Are they really happy? Are they fulfilled? Do they wield in any discernible measure divine power? No. Can an extinguished fire give light and heat? No it cannot. Have they gained the qualifications to exercise and be recipients of the grace of the orisa by all of these dizzying activities?! No, they have not and will not, until they determine to follow the path of quality and affinity with the moral-spiritual requirements of Ifa, of the Orisa. Until genuine interest in true devotion, awe, love and reverence arises in their hearts, they will always be driven by pride, vanity, pettiness, jealousy, delusions of grandeur and illusions of having a non-existent power and authority. They will always find themselves dissatisfied with themselves and empty of any genuine divine content. They are spiritually hungry, thirsty and starving. Like the leech, they only know how to receive and take but have no true willingness to impart and give. From such people steer away.
Do not allow even the shadow of such people to touch you. It is far better to be dedicated wholehearted to just one orisa who inspires confidence, awe, devotion and reverence than to have many kinds of orisa shrines and icons and so forth, but no genuine understanding of what ones true aims are and how to achieve them. It is better to become proficient and artful in the ways of ones chosen orisa, than to have many accumulations of ritual and ceremonial items and not truly know what one is doing and why. I want to encourage and inspire all orisa devotee’s to live a life of genuine quality. If you are a devotee of Obatala then enthusiastically learn all that there is to learn about Orisanla, incorporate his teachings, character and example in your life. The same is true of any other orisa with whom you have a deep and genuine loving affinity with. Let us not miss the mark by living superficial and distracted lives. Let us develop deep, meaningful and satisfying friendships and relationships with our orisa. Let us seek out genuine and honest people within our community to associate with and learn from, while endeavoring to be in our own lives, character and bearing, men and woman of sterling character, who delight to embody and display truthfulness and dignity in all we do. Life is a precious from Olodumare to you. Do not squander your life, gifts, talents and divine affinities in things petty, superficial and ignoble. Learn from others. Learn from the good actions of others. Learn from the bad actions of others. Make the best of your devotion. May the best of your initiation. Walk your path with courage, dignity, truthfulness and honesty. Be a light in this world. Be a living hope and comfort in this age of restlessness, anxiety, superficiality and deceit.
May the light and truth of Ifa burn brightly in your hearts, illuminating your minds and enriching your lives. May Ela Asiwaju enliven and invigorate you through these lofty thoughts and considerations. Ase.
May divine earth mother Onile Ogboduora, upon whom we walk, live and thrive, be witness to the truths you have this day considered and by her blessings may you be empowered to tread the path of truth, love, courage patience and good character with consistency and reliability. May she bear witness to your conscience, your determination and resolve. Ase.

On Faith

May God bless you always. May the power of Almighty be your strength and your life. The purpose of this text is on faith.

Faith and purpose constitute the motive power and foundation of life. There is nothing that strong faith and an determined purpose may not accomplish. By daily exercise of silent faith, the energy and the power of man are gathered together and by perpetual strengthening of silent purpose, the power are directed towards the object of accomplishment. Before you can hope to enter into any measure of victory, blessing and success and usefulness, you must learn how to focus your thought forces by indulging and cultivating quietness and calmness. No matter what kind of job or service you are rendering for others including those who are in the business, you may suddenly confronted with some extremely difficult situation or probably disaster. You grow fearful, anxious and worry and you are at your possible end. To persist in such an evil state of mind and emotion would be a great disaster, for when anxiety steps in, correct judgment may be difficult to attain. If you will take advantage of a quiet hour or two in the early morning or at night and go away to some solitary place or in your room in the house where you know you will be free from noise or disturbance and having seated yourself in an easy habit, you forcibly direct your mind right away from the object of anxiety by dwelling upon something in your life that is pleasing, you will find that a calm, spiritual strength will gradually steal into your mind and your anxiety will pass away. Learn to use prayer and spiritual devotion to bring back your mind and re-establish it on the plane of peace and harmony. Never allow your mind to wander in the tumultuous ocean of worry and anxiety, that is deadly for successful steps and positive atmosphere. There is a divine solution to all mind that search for the existence of infinite power Of God through prayer and faith. Hence faith; prayer and calming spirit or soul attract the right course to pursue and the proper end to all problems. Make prayer and faith your daily spiritual food and drinks.
Doubtless is the foundation of hopelessness and failure. The doubting soul has failed from the beginning of any investment or purpose. To worry or anxious is to doubt the great cosmic power that colored the universe, bring about the seeds, leaves, vegetables and fruits you put on your table on daily basis. The power that put all things rights and the energy that create your body that house the soul which is the mark of the great cosmic power in your being and life. To fear, anxious and doubt is to defeat the energy of life. Be guided absolutely by the habit and vision of calmness, faith and work. Faith does not stand still. It is the working power of the Omnipotent God to illuminate your being and steps. The hour of calmness, prayer and faith while working or remain quite is the hour of illumination and correct judgment. By such a course of mental discipline, the scattered thought forces are united and directed, like the rays of the searchlight , upon the problem at issue with the result that it gives way before them.
There is no difficulty, however great that will not yield before a calm and powerful faith and strong believe in the Almighty.
Hence try to defeat the enemies within and the adversaries without will flee from you. The arena of faith is the arena of victory and hard work with the core belief that you are not alone but all forces in the cosmic and ethereal level are bound to support your mission. God will not and cannot discriminate you on the basis of your religion, color or sex but you can be beaten on the basis of your fear, doubt and anxiety. These habit of mind to doubt, fear, idle and indiscipline are destructive camp of the weak and they suffer the consequences throughout their life time and so also their generation. The arena of faith is the work place of the pure discipline and hard working being. Let faith and prayer be your virtue and principles in life. You and your generation will be blessed forever.
